The Summer Olympics are planned for this August (8/8/08) in Beijing China. We've talked extensively about the political protests, pollution and media censorship being big concerns for the IOC.

Oregonlive.com recently asked me to take part in their popular "You Be the GM" post-season analysis. The way this works is that the site offers an analysis of each player and key member of the team's braintrust and they ask the fans to vote on keeping the person or booting the person.

We talk about Tiger Woods' endorsement deals frequently on our show. The two deals that have been the most successful in my opinion are Nike Golf and Buick. Nike Golf because most everywhere you see Tiger, you also see the Nike swoosh. Even in other company's ads.

Sports Business Radio's Portland-only edition will have a new home starting May 18th. We're leaving NewsRadio 750AM KXL to join KXL's sister station 95.5FM "The Game". SBR will air every Sunday from 3pm - 5pm.

I had the opportunity to tape an interview with Stern earlier today and its a wide ranging conversation that covered a plethora of topics. It was the 5th time I have interviewed Commissioner Stern (he was the first ever guest on SBR back in 2004).

When I am not hosting Sports Business Radio, I media train athletes and executives for a living. One of the main things I advise my clients when they are embroiled in a scandal is to be honest and come clean right from the get go. In the 24/7 news cycle we live in, the more you run, the more the media will chase you. Often times the cover up is worse than the crime.

Mike Golub, the Chief Operating Officer of the Portland Trail Blazers joined me today on the Portland-only edition of Sports Business Radio. We discussed the team's drastically increasing ticket sales, the situation with Comcast Sportsnet and the offseason business plans for the team amongst other things.
