Recently the news media has focused on the negative impact of sports's heros persnal lives and the negative impact it is having on children.....personally I choose to not allow my children to focuse on these issues, and relay to them that not every great athleat has a great personal life....I am raising future athleats in what ever role they choose to take it.....From football players owening dog fighters and wreslers committing suicide.....to sports betting....I think the news media has a responsability to report these actions...however too much attention is place on these "humans" ... I am a sports fan....but not every hero deserves this reputation......I learned life lessons taught to me by the sports world in a very small way...It has taught me survival skill that make me who I am today as a person...I choose as a mom to have these values passed on to my children.......I have a strong interest in sport phycology and the impact it has on a team and there for in the business world.....With the medical information we are seeing throught the US and Canada we need to encourage more and more children to have a active life style.......These issues need to be place in an adult world and adult critism....I am tired of encourage my children life exercising and fair compition only to hear about the great who have failed....and trying to convey that this is a path they should not choose....I've meet great friend in the community of sports and proper arch nemesis...to take it to the sport world and leave it there. I only hope to convey that on to the children I meet and espically my own......I think we all need responsable journalism and responsable business leaders to teach those who try and follow in these giant footsteps...even when they are too big to follow right now......Just a hockey and gymnastic mom.....who takes the time to make the commitment on behalf of her children.....Eileen in Canada and on the world net.....
