You won't want to miss this weekend's edition of Sports Business Radio and my in-depth, One-on-One interview with NBA Commissioner David Stern. I had the opportunity to tape an interview with Stern earlier today and its a wide ranging conversation that covered a plethora of topics. It was the 5th time I have interviewed Commissioner Stern (he was the first ever guest on SBR back in 2004).
Amongst the topics we discussed: the situations with the Sonics, Hornets and Trail Blazers; the security measures in effect following last offseason's Tim Donaghy crisis; the growth of the NBA's brand in China; who can change the rules of the game - owners or the league office?; and the new partnership between the NBA and the NCAA.
And Commissioner Stern even shared some of his thoughts regarding using the upcoming Summer Olympics in Beijing as a platform for expressing political beliefs. Many people may not realize this, but David Stern is one of the most socially responsible people you'll ever meet and he's very well versed on many things other than the NBA.
The conversation with Stern will take up two segments of our show this week, but its chalk full of information I think you'll find fascinating.
