For the past 21 years USA Today has had their Ad Meter awards where the day after the Super Bowl they rank the Super Bowl ads. Anheuser-Busch has won the award for the past 10 years. But this year the ad that topped the list was provided not by an expensive ad agency but by the winners of an online contest. Doritos user-generated ad topped USA Today's 21st annual Ad Meter marking the first time it wasn't an ad agency that created the best-liked Super Bowl commercial." The Doritos ad submitted in an online contest by Dave and Joe Herbert of Batesville Indiana earned the brothers $1M from parent company Frito-Lay.
