Tiger Woods' Fed-Ex Cup Paycheck Bigger Than Nicklaus' Career Earnings

Tiger Woods may be chasing Jack Nicklaus for the career grand slam record (Tiger currently has 13 Grand Slam titles to Jack's 18), but when it comes to career earnings, Tiger takes a back seat to nobody. By winning the Tour Championship in Atlanta and thus capturing the inaugural Fed-Ex Cup on Sunday, Tiger took home nearly $11.2M in one swoop. To put things in to further perspective, Tiger earned more in one day than Jack Nicklaus has earned in his entire career on the golf course.
I know, I know, Tiger won't see his $10M Fed-Ex Cup payment for years to come because the money is deferred, but eventually he'll pocket $10M just for winning the Fed-Ex Cup. By comparison, Jack Nicklaus earned $8,755,407.00 over the course of his entire career on the golf course, including his run on the Champions Tour.
Tiger has now won 61 events in his career. Jack Nicklaus has won 113 events over the course of his. Yet Tiger has earned nearly ten times as much in career golf earnings as the Golden Bear.
Tiger Woods has now earned nearly $86M on the golf course over the course of his career. That figure pales in comparison to the $100M he earns annually from endorsements from the likes of Nike, Gatorade, Tag Hauer and EA Sports.
Tiger Woods is well on his way to becoming the first athlete in the history of sports to earn $1B from career earnings and endorsements.
