Suzyn Waldman is a Yankee Homer of Epic Proportions

Absolutely classic audio of Yankees radio broadcaster Suzyn Waldman courtesy of Awful Announcing. You probably remember her best as the homer who almost had heart failure when she told her radio listeners that Roger Clemens was coming out of retirement to pitch again for the men in pinstripes after he announced his return from owner George Steinbrenner's private box earlier this season.
As if that classic call wasn't enough, we get to hear her cry during her postgame report last night.
Incredible. If I were a Yankees fan I'd be happy my team was eliminated last night just so I don't have to listen to Waldman for the next few months.
I'm sure she is a very nice woman, but wow, this kind of over the top support for the team you are covering is ridiculous.

interesting you'd comment on someone's broadcast
considering your over the top sports radio voice is pretty tough to take. you make cowherd pleasant to listen to. i listen to your podcasts, but you make it tough to get through.
susan has been around the yankees so long that it doesn't bother most new yorkers i think. torre is getting fired after 12 fantastic seasons; it's not like she does this all the time. the clemens thing was pretty bad, however.
