BY GUEST BLOGGER BOBBY CORSER - SBR PRODUCER

As the NBA trading deadline is a week away, some teams are already beginning to make the move they need to get them into the playoffs, or deep into the playoffs.  Miami and Phoenix made a deal earlier.  Word is the Nets and Dallas are going to make a move soon.  Many NBA teams are looking over the current roster and seeing who is available for what price.  It will be interesting to see what gets done in the next week.  The trade deadline is the 21st at 3pm Eastern.

Primetime drama early this morning on Capitol Hill as the boys of baseball testified to Congress.  We will have much more on this subject this week on Sports Business Radio.  ESPN aired coverage as well as other non sports networks.  It will be interesting to see the ratings for coverage of the testimony.

NBA tells All Star Participants and others “Don’t Leave The French Quarter”  Looks like the NBA is going to play it safe this weekend and they are telling players and team officials don’t leave the French Quarter.  Concerns about crime and other issues are on the minds of officials and others as the NBA invades New Orleans this weekend for the All Star game.  Despite a rebuilding effort in the heart of the city, the NBA is saying it is not safe for its players and staffers to be out and about in the city.
