Washington Nationals President Stan Kasten Headlines this Weekend's Edition of SBR

Last Sunday the Washington Nationals opened up their new ballpark - Nationals Park. And what a debut it was. The game was broadcast on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball, President George W. Bush threw out the ceremonial first pitch and Nationals 3B Ryan Zimmerman hit a walk-off HR to win the game against the Atlanta Braves. Not bad. Sounds like a Disney movie.
Washington Nationals President Stan Kasten will join us on this weekend's edition of Sports Business Radio to discuss the Nationals and their new ballpark. Kasten, who in addition to overseeing the construction of Nationals Park has also overseen the construction of Turner Field and Phillips Arena in Atlanta, is one of the brightest, most seasoned team executives in all of sports. He's done a terrific job helping the Lerner's secure a baseball team for the DC market and he's doing a terrific job overseeing the day to day operations for the franchise.
While I have not visited Nationals Park in person, I've read some of the reviews and taken the Washington Post's virtual tour and it looks like a fantastic venue.
We'll talk to Stan about the construction process (Nationals Park was built in only 23 months which is very fast for a venue of this size), the best food options and the variety of options for kids at Nationals Park when we catch up with him this weekend.
How popular is Nationals Park right now? Heck, even the Pope is slated to set up shop in center field at Nationals Park later this month.
As someone who has visited Washington DC on several ocassions, I'm excited to know that Nationals Park will now be on the list of "things to do" in the future. Its a great city and having a MLB team with a first-class venue is going to be tremendous for the city in the future.
We'll talk to this weekend! As always, you can catch our show ON DEMAND via podcast, by clicking here.

The Washington Nationals
My best team of MLB is The Washington Nationals . This why I always fallow their games especially whenever I have some time. I’m always trying not o miss any of their game and hear about the team’s news. But the Washington Nationals tickets get more pricy especially when there are some hot games. But, if we’re really good fans we should try not to be mean when we’re talking about a favourite teams. It’s not only the Nationals tickets that got pricy, but there are other major teams too, so the team needs our support and we should provide as much as we can.
