Surprising TB Rays and USC Troubles Headline this Weekend's Edition of SBR

Interesting show planned for you this weekend on SBR. The Tampa Bay Rays (no more Devil) are one of the major surprises of the young MLB season. They sit atop the AL East in front of the mighty Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees (who also happen to have the #3 and #1 payrolls in all of baseball respectively).

We'll catch up with Rays Senior VP of Development and Business Affairs Michael Kalt. You may not be familiar with Kalt, but you should be. He is one of the true power brokers in all of the world of sports. In addition to working on getting a deal done for a new ballpark in Tampa (think of a park like Pac Bell Park in SF that sits right on the water), he was chiefly responsible for getting the financing deals worked out for the two new parks that are scheduled to open in New York next year for the Yankees and Mets. Kalt is a very bright guy and I think you'll enjoy our conversation.

We'll also get the latest on the O.J. Mayo scandal that has made headlines recently with Scott Wolf of the LA Daily News. Mayo reportedly accepted $30,000 in cash and gifts and there are several culprits associated with this mess. Its the latest incident for USC's athletic department, which has also endured a scandal with former football star Reggie Bush, now of the New Orleans Saints.

Also on this weekend's show, we'll discuss the latest with Spygate, the retirement of two very successful female athletes this week and Barry Bonds' latest legal troubles.

Talk to you this weekend!
