Tiger and the Detroit Tigers Team Up on Clinic at Comerica Park

If you read this blog regularly, you know that I'm very intrigued by the business of Tiger Woods. Why shouldn't I be? He's only the world's top earning athlete when it comes to endorsements and off the field business.

I've always thought it would be cool if Tiger Woods and MLB's Detroit Tigers got together on some kind of a promotion. Now it looks like they will in fact be joining forces.

According to the Detroit News, Tiger Woods will host a clinic at Comerica Park on June 24th in conjunction with his appearance later that week at the Buick Open.

Buick Golf Marketing Manager Larry Peck notes that "It's the first time Tiger has ever done a clinic in a ballpark. It will be unique."

A limited number of tickets are available for the event, with the figure expected to be around 8,000 in sections behind home plate.

My guess is that if Tigers fans think that Miguel Cabrera can take it deep at Comerica Park, wait until they see Tiger Woods launch golf balls out of that park. Now that will be a cool photo op that will likely bring Buick tons of exposure.

Again, this is why I like Tiger's deal with Buick. They're always thinking outside the box when it comes to promoting their partnership with him. And its worked very well for them.
