New Miami Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra Headlines This Weekend's Edition of SBR

New Miami Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra will headline this weekend's edition of Sports Business Radio. Spoelstra is the NBA's youngest coach at age 37 and takes over the reigns of a team that won only 15 games last season. But if anyone can inject some energy and new ideas into the Heat franchise, its Spoelstra. Spoelstra is a highly intelligent, extremely dedicated guy who has been credited with helping develop several Heat players including Dwyane Wade.
Erik has worked under legendary coach Pat Riley for the past 13 years. Riley had many people he could have chosen from to succeed him in Miami, but he felt the best possible person for the job was Erik Spoelstra. That says a lot.
Spoelstra also has the honor of being the first Asian-American to be named Head Coach of a U.S. major league sports team. Pretty amazing.
I look forward to bringing you my conversation with Erik Spoelstra on this weekend's show.
Also on this weekend's show we'll examine the TV ratings for the NBA Playoffs and the NHL Stanley Cup..........both leagues are seeing nice ratings increases this year after being historically bad last year.
