Turning the Lights Out at Yankee Stadium

Mark me down as an "old-school" type of guy when it comes to the history of sports venues in the U.S. So it was sad for me to watch the last ever game at Yankee Stadium last night. The House that Ruth built hosted its last Yankees game last night (because the team with the highest payroll in team sports won't be making the playoffs this year) and the team will move into their new $1B stadium next door next season.
I get why the Yankees are moving. With suites and all of the modern amenities that the new Yankees Stadium will bring, the Yankees will make hundreds of millions if not over a billion dollars more per season. Its hard to ignore that kind of extra revenue.
But its sad to me that the hallowed ground that saw Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle, DiMaggio, Thurman Munson, Reggie Jackson and Derek Jeter roam the field will be demolished. Generations of families have sat in Yankees Stadium and watched baseball.
If it were up to me these stadiums would never be torn down:
1.) Yankee Stadium
2.) Fenway Park
3.) Wrigley Field
4.) Lambeau Field
5.) Dodger Stadium
But I have a feeling that over the course of my lifetime, these venues will all opt for the added revenues a new stadium can provide and they will probably be torn down.
