Dallas Maverick owner Mark Cuban is one of my favorite owners in all of sports. He's innovative, creative and he brings a tremendous amount of passion and energy to any project he is affiliated with.

Our conversation on Sports Business Radio is one of my favorite conversations since we launched our show in 2004.

So I certainly hope this story this morning that he's being accused of insider trading is false. Read the official complaint against Cuban here.

If this story is true, he can kiss any chance of owning the Chicago Cubs goodbye. He'll also have his hands full explaining his illegal trading to NBA Commissioner David Stern and the other NBA owners.

And there's even the possibility that he may serve some jail time....... ala Martha Stewart.

This is only a report so I am in no way saying it is true and we should wait for all of the facts to be gathered before we make any quick judgements.

But as someone who assists professionals with their dealings with the media and helps them shape their images through the media, this is not at all the type of story Mark Cuban wants out there. Its the type of story that ruins your reputation and all of your years of hard work.
