BCS Headed from Fox to ESPN in 2011

ESPN today officially obtained the rights to the four BCS games currently airing on Fox in a four-year deal estimated at $125M annually. Now ABC/ESPN will pretty much own the college football bowl season. And the path to a college football playoff just became that much more difficult.
But for all of the people who are griping today about the fact these games won't be aired on free TV starting in 2011 I have three words for you - GET OVER IT.
I mean really. How many people out there don't have cable? Even basic cable with ESPN. The days of free TV and cable TV being different are over. If you don't have cable/satellite TV you are definitely in the minority.
Monday Night Football is on ESPN and its been much more relevant since its move from ABC.
Fox didn't have the powerful platforms that ESPN has to promote the BCS properly. The BCS honchos saw that and made a switch. And a check for $125M didn't hurt matters.
When 2011 rolls around, if you can't find ESPN to watch these bowl games, you need to come out of the cave you're living in. By that time, you'll probably be able to watch the game on your handheld device.

Say Goodbye to Playoff
For those that think a playoff system should replace the BCS, the wait continues. With ESPN's deal, there's no way it will addressed at least until 2011. It makes for good sports radio fodder, but the BCS seems to be here to stay.
