Nike Congratulates Roger Federer on his 15th Grand Slam Title

Roger Federer won a thrilling 5-set match today against Andy Roddick and has now won more Grand Slam titles than anyone in the history of tennis, breaking Pete Sampras' streak.

Nike, never a company to miss an opportunity, had purchased the commercial immediately following Federer's match and before the trophy presentation. Here's the spot they ran.

Nike also had Federer decked out in a sweat suit following the match that had a golden "15" on the back.

Federer also got some nice TV time for Rolex, his watch sponsor (and also the watch sponsor for Andy Roddick).

ESPN Classic will air the match as an "Instant Classic" on Monday.

By the way, Pete Sampras deserves a lot of credit for being the class act he was on Sunday after Federer broke his record. Not only did he fly halfway around the world to London to be on hand for Federer's momentous ocassion (first appearance at Wimbledon in 7 years for Sampras) but he also had nothing but praise for Federer when asked where Federer ranks amongst the all-time greats. Sampras has a lot of class.
